The monarch of the Ashanti Empire, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has charged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to look for their own self-supporting funds if they do not want the government to meddle in their affairs.
Otumfuo stated this during a meeting with Sports and Recreation Minister, Kofi Adams over the weekend to deliberate on the present state of Ghana sports.
According to Otumfuo, the government being a major financier, is entitled to request for accountability.
"Ghana Football is disorganized. Government spends on football, so why can't they have a say if they are spending on the game? That's cheating. If you don't want them to have a say, look for your own money to fund football," Otumfuo said, as quoted by Nhyira FM.
