Kofi Adams, Ghana's Minister of Sports and Recreation has stated confidently that his current priority is to ensure Black Stars qualify and go down in history at the 2026 World Cup.
According to Adams, the Black Stars needs to focus on annexing qualification and going down in history at the mundial which will be staged in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
“We just don’t want to qualify for the World Cup but we want to compete among the top nations and maybe beyond the group stages and even do better than what we did in South Africa in 2010 and we should forget that Morocco is the only African country to play in the semifinals of the World Cup so we have to work very hard and I will ask the tough questions,” he told Woezor TV.
Even though Ghana failed to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), they still have a chance of securing a spot in the global showpiece.
In the World Cup qualifying campaign, Ghana secured back-to-back wins against Mali and the Central African Republic.
The Black Stars are set to slug-it-out against Chad and Madagascar in match-day five and six fixtures next month.
