With few hours to kick-off the Black Stars match against Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium, Charles Amofa, PRO of the National Sports Authority, has revealed that the football field and essential maintenance work has been performed.
He said the edifice has gone through major maintenance with certain things being upgraded and modernized.
"Sometimes we leave here at dawn. The match is 7pm in the evening so we will use the floodlight for the game. Floodlight too our facility is close to the sea so where there is rust and non functioning bulbs the Sports Ministry has made sure we have fixed new bulbs where there is rust we have applied anti rust and that is the first phase of the renovation," Amofa told Peace FM.
Ghana are set to face Les Sao of Chad tonight at 19:00 GMT, in a crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
With nine points from four matches, the Black Stars are second in Group I with nine points, having secured three wins and one defeat.
