Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness & Industry Sampson Ahi, has asked for prayers for Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams.

The Member of Parliament for Bodi Constituency in the Western Region, remarked this while addressing the floor of Ghana’s Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic in the aftermath of the Black Stars impressive performance in this month's 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.

Ghana's Black Stars defeated Chad 5-0, and then continued with a 3-0 victory over Madagascar to climb to the top of Group I.

Ahi appreciated the key role the Sports and Recreation Minister played in ensuring the Black Stars came out victorious in both matches.

“In just two months, all that we need to do, including the minority, is to pray for him (Kofi Adams), pray for the Sports Minister so that God will grant him the enablement so that he can steer [the] affairs of sports activities in this country.”
