Ghana football legend, Alex Asamoah has opened up on the upcoming clash between his former clubs, Asante Kotoko and Burkinabe giants RC Kadiogo in the first preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

The sides were paired to square off against each other in a draw which was held at the CAF headquarters last Tuesday in Cairo.

The 36 year old featured for the Porcupine Warriors for two years where he won the GPL and goalking award with 16 goals in the 2008/09 season and also had a short stint with the Burkinabe giants. 
 
Alex Asamoah has told Kotoko to be on alert since they are coming up against a very strong side in RC Kadiogo but optimistically, he added the Reds will go far with the right recruitment. He said;
 
"I have played for Kadiogo before, they are very strong and fit with matured players."
 
"Kotoko has done it before and I know with good recruitments and preparation, Kotoko will go far."
 
The first leg will be honoured on the weekend of 9-11 September, with the second leg expected to be held on 16-18 September, 2022.
