Minister of Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams despite promising to always make national budgets known to the public, has given reasons why he didn't walk his talk in the recent international window.

The senior men national team regrouped early last week for match-day five and six of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers but have all returned to their various clubs at the moment.

The four-time African champions have now brighten their qualification chances after emphatic wins over Chad and Madagascar and now expected to rise in the next FIFA World rankings.

However, Ghanaians have been on the neck of the Sports Minister to reveal the budget for these two matches and the Member of Parliament for Buem Constituency had this say to clarify things

“People were asking me to disclose the budget for the games, but I kept asking myself what the budget would do for the team ahead of the games?

“Sometimes, some situations, create distraction for the team, so we would weigh every situation before making a decision", he said on Sporty FM.

The Black Stars will regroup in September 1, to face Chad and Mali in the next round of matches in the qualifers.
