Sudan defender Abdelrahman Kuku offered positive feedback about the pitch at Accra Sports Stadium after participating in his team's goalless draw against Ghana in a crucial 2025 AFCON qualifier.

This match marked the first of two consecutive games between the nations as they vie for one of the two qualification spots in Group F.

Despite Sudan facing a relentless assault from the Ghanaian side, including a missed opportunity by Ghana captain Mohammed Kudus in the 88th minute, the team managed to secure a hard-fought point.

Prior to the match, Sudan's assistant coach, Ignatius Fosu, had raised concerns regarding the quality of the training pitch his team used, highlighting ongoing scrutiny of pitch conditions in Ghana. This issue had previously threatened Ghana's ability to host the crucial match.

However, Kuku, 25, had a different take after the match, commending the state of the Accra Stadium pitch. "The pitch was good, so you can’t complain about it. We can’t say anything about the conditions. You guys had your fans; the field was what you guys picked, and the field was good. It was a good game, and we executed what we were told to do," he stated.

Sudan will face Ghana again on Monday, October 14, at 13:00 GMT, in what promises to be another pivotal encounter in their AFCON qualification campaign.
