Former Ghanaian international, Prince Tagoe has questioned the character of the current Black Stars squad and feels they don't sacrifice enough like they do for their various clubs.

The 27-year-old made these remarks following the goalless draw against Sudan last Thursday at the Ohene Gyan Stadium in match-day three of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The four-time African champions are currently on the brink of missing out on the next continental showpiece as they currently sit on the fourth spot with two points from three matches.

Reacting to the situation, the 37-year-old lashed out on the current Black Stars and feels it's a young team that lacks character and passion.

“If the players can replicate at least 80% of the performances they exhibit at their various clubs, we will undoubtedly win games. We have good players, but the character they exhibit in approaching Black Stars games is very low and that has been our biggest problem."

Ghana will face Sudan in the return encounter on Tuesday, October 15, at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Benina, Libya.

Prince Tagoe made 36 appearances for the Black Stars with seven goals to his belt and was part of the 2010 FIFA World Cup squad.
