The former Ghana U17 head coach says he resigned due to the environment being noxious.
Kingston shockingly announced his resignation as the Black Starlets finished third in the WAFU U-17 Championship hosted in Accra earlier this year, failing to secure a spot in next year’s U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The former Heart of Midlothian midfielder has opened up about why he left the Ghana U17 role.
"I don't think it's a runaway. This is a typical example of how you should work hard and not only work hard when people are watching you. As soon as I resigned then the emails started coming," he told Joy Sports.
"The environment was not healthy for me so that is the reason why I resigned."
After resigning, Kingston has ascended to a role as head coach of United States based RPS Academies, where he has been tasked to nurture untapped talents.
