Fenerbahçe defender Kojo Peprah Oppong has urged the Black Stars to learn from their recent setbacks and return stronger after Ghana endured a difficult international break.
The four-time African champions lost their first two matches in the 2027 AFCON qualifiers, falling 2-0 to Côte d’Ivoire before suffering a 4-2 defeat to The Gambia on home soil.
Peprah was involved in both encounters, featuring for 71 minutes in the loss to Côte d’Ivoire and another 74 minutes against The Gambia.
The defender has now broken his silence on the team’s performance, acknowledging that the results were not what Ghana had hoped for while maintaining that their qualification campaign remains alive.
“Not the international break we hoped for. We failed to get the results we wanted, but the journey isn’t over yet. We will learn, regroup, and come back stronger,” Peprah posted on social media.
He added that the players remained committed to fighting for the country, saying they would give everything to help Ghana “back where it belongs” and stressing the importance of standing together.
Ghana must now regroup ahead of their next qualifying assignments in November and need a response after collecting no points from their opening two Group C matches.
