The Ministry of Sports and Recreation has settled outstanding per diem payments owed to the Black Princesses, Ghana’s U-20 women’s national team, ahead of their upcoming FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Tunisia.
The players had been awaiting allowances for their previous training camp and the double-header against Tunisia last year. Despite the delay in payments, the Black Princesses showcased resilience on the field, recording a 4-1 aggregate victory to advance to the next stage of qualification.
Looking ahead, Ghana will face South Africa in the subsequent round, with the first leg scheduled in three weeks. The timely clearance of all pending payments is expected to lift spirits within the camp, providing a boost as the team intensifies preparations for the pivotal tie.
The Black Princesses are now fully focused on their World Cup ambitions, with the Ministry’s intervention ensuring financial distractions will not affect their preparations.
