The Black Princesses of Ghana have been placed in Group E of the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, which was held in Colombia's capital, Bogota, earlier today.

The Princesses had a fantastic run after three rounds of qualifiers having taking out Guinea-Bissau, Eswatini and wrapped up with Senegal early this year to secure their seventh consecutive spot to the World Cup.

The number of partaking countries in this year's World Cup has been increased from 16 to 24, with those countries divided into six groups of four each.

Head coach Yussif Basigi and Administrative Manager Hannah Ofosuah Asare were present at the draw on behalf of the entire team.

Ghana have been placed in Group E alongside Japan- whom they were in the same group with in the last World Cup, New Zealand and Austria.

The U-20 Women's World Cup is expected to commence on Saturday, August 31, to Sunday, September 22, 2024, in Colombia.

The last the Black Princesses regrouped was in March this year when they achieved the 'host and win' after edging sworn rivals Nigeria via penalty shootouts to win gold in women football at the 2023 African Games.
