Black Princesses head coach Charles Simpson says his team is fully focused on qualifying for the 2026 U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.

Ghana booked a place in the final round of the qualifiers after edging South Africa 3-2 on aggregate.

The Black Princesses were held to a 2-2 draw in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium but produced a hard-fought 1-0 win in Johannesburg to seal progression.

With Uganda now standing between Ghana and a place at the World Cup, Simpson says qualification remains the clear target.

“Well, our goal is to go to the World Cup, and South Africa posed to be a challenge for us, so we are extremely happy we could surpass them,” Simpson said after the match.

He added that preparations will now shift to their next opponents.

“Now we will have time to prepare and look at which one is our next opponent,” he said.

The final qualifying round will be played over two legs in May 2026, with matches scheduled between May 1 and May 10.
