The Ghana Football Association (GFA) says it remains confident in the Black Stars squad despite injury concerns ahead of upcoming international friendlies.

Communications Director Henry Asante Twum said the team still has enough attacking options, even with the absence of key forwards Inaki Williams and Brandon Thomas-Asante, who are both sidelined through injury.

He said the technical team is satisfied with the depth available and believes other players can step up.

Asante Twum also praised Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer, who was called up from the standby list following the withdrawals. The forward, who plays for Hamburger SV, has featured in 26 matches this season and scored three goals.

According to him, the player has already shown promise in training.

He described Königsdörffer as “very lively” in camp, adding that his early performances have been encouraging for the coaching staff.

The GFA believes the current squad can cope without some of its regular players, as preparations continue for the friendly matches.

Ghana will face Austria on Friday, 27 March, before playing Germany in Stuttgart three days later as part of preparations for upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

The games are expected to give the coaching team a chance to test options and assess squad depth, with Königsdörffer now among those hoping to make an impression.
