During a lap of honour at the Babayara sports stadium on Tuesday, Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku was met with hooting and booing from a group of fans.
This occurred after the Ghana U23 national men's team secured qualification for the 2023 CAF U23 Africa Cup of Nations (U23 AFCON) by defeating Algeria 1-0 with a goal from Abdul Fatawu Issahaku in the 13th minute.
Although the Black Meteors dominated the match against the Fennec Foxes, they failed to convert more goal-scoring opportunities. Despite this, Ibrahim Tanko and his team were able to secure their place in the fourth edition of the U23 AFCON.
Following the match, Okraku attended and gave the Babayara crowd a lap of honour to show appreciation to the home fans.
However, the embarrassing incident occurred when he was met with hooting and booing from a section of the crowd.
