Wilson Arthur, Chairman of the MTN FA Cup Committee, has expressed optimism about increasing revenue for the upcoming FA Cup season through the introduction of radio and TV rights.

Speaking at the Ghana Football Association's (GFA) 30th Ordinary Congress, Arthur highlighted the importance of generating more income to enhance the domestic competition and attract greater participation than in previous years.

"This year, we're hopeful that the introduction of radio and TV rights will bring in significant revenue," Arthur stated. "All the matches will be promoted extensively. Football is showbiz; without proper promotion, it's not the same. We aim to improve the promotion of matches and players, making them feel and perform like stars."

The previous rights holder, StarTimes, saw its contract with the GFA expire at the end of the 2023/24 season. With new broadcasting opportunities on the horizon, the FA Cup Committee is focused on ensuring that the competition receives the attention it deserves.

Nsoatreman FC clinched the 2023/24 FA Cup trophy last season, defeating Bofoakwa Tano in the final at the University of Ghana Stadium.
