Black Stars technical advisor, Chris Hughton has admitted they are in a very tough group at the World Cup but is very optimistic they will cruise out of the group phase.

Ghana has been drawn in Group H as the lowest seeded nation alongside Portugal, South Korea and two time world champions Uruguay.

With few days to the start of the Mundial, the technical team led by Otto Addo of which Hughton is part, are expected to announce a provisional man squad which will later be reduced to the final 26 in the middle of next month.

Speaking ahead of the World Cup, the ex- Newcastle United and Brighton manager has confessed Ghana is in a difficult group and have a tedious task to fulfill but confidently added they're going to qualify. He told Daily Mail

"We are where we are, the lowest-seeded team in a group of four — and it’s a tough group."

“In my conversations with people, I encourage them not to get too carried away, but this is the World Cup.”

“They [the federation] will be expecting us to do well. So will the country. It’s a cup competition and we have to be confident.”

The 2022 FIFA World Cup will commence on November 20, 2022.
