Asante Kotoko midfielder Baba Yahaya has opened up on the reasons behind the club's failure to win the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League title, attributing it to new signings relaxing after joining the club.

The talented attacking midfielder, who joined the Porcupine Warriors last summer, went on to play a key role for the team and helped them finish 6th on the Ghana Premier League standings.

In his debut season, Baba Yahaya played in 25 games, scoring two goals and providing five assists.

Speaking to the media team of the club, Baba Yahaya revealed that the team's inability to gel together was a major factor in their title aspirations being dashed.

"We failed to win the league because most of us relaxed after arriving at Kotoko," he said.

Despite the disappointing campaign, Baba Yahaya is looking forward to his second season with the Porcupine Warriors and is hoping to make a more significant impact.
