General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association, Lawyer Prosper Harrison Addo has stated categorically clear that, they have no problem with Afena-Gyan as speculated earlier in the local media.
The 19 year old, is currently on loan at Cremonese and has netted only two goals in all competitions and is most likely he will return to his mother club AS Roma at the end of the season.
The young sensation for almost a year now hasn't had a Black Stars call up but turned down the Black Meteor's call up two months ago which many reported that, is because there is an issue between him and the GFA.
However, Lawyer Prosper Harrison Addo has rubbished all those claims and reveal they have no issue with the lanky forward and that, the technical team could invite him to the senior national team anytime they will need his service.
"The FA as a body has no issue with Afena-Gyan. He is young and needs room for himself, sometimes constant criticisms reinforce his disappointments. So we have to give him room to come to terms and a good place. The GFA has not stated anywhere that the player will not receive a call-up and will disassociate itself from such reports,” he told Happy FM
“The FA will however leave that to the coach to decide if he needs Afena-Gyan and then the FA will make sure we do what is necessary to get the player. He is still a national asset and will be key for the team."
