Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo has reacted to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations draw and feels it's a very tough group for Ghana as they will have to work extra harder to conquer the challenge.

The balloting was held in Johannesburg, South Africa last Thursday, July 4, and was conducted by Cote D'Ivoire national team head coach Emerse Fae.

The four-time African champions got themselves in pot 1 prior to the draw, and in the end found themselves in Group F alongside Angola, Sudan and West African neighbors Niger.

Speaking for the first time after the draw, the ex- Borussia Dortmund trainer dug deep into how this group will be very difficult but knows they will have to start hitting the grounds running to win the group regardless.

"They don't have a good record in their last five, six, seven, eight games. I think they won one, played some draws and lost other games.

"But what you can see is that, when they lost, they just lost by a lone goal. So it's going to be tough. All the other teams are finding it tough playing against Niger so it's going to be tough for us as well. We have to be at our best our 100% best to beat everyone."

Just last month, Otto Addo and his lads enhanced their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification chances with back to back wins over Mali and Central African Republic and will be hoping to replicate same in the upcoming qualifying series.

The group stage of the qualifiers will be played in the international windows in September, October, and November of this year. The top two teams in each group will secure qualification for the 2025 AFCON.
