Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has expressed his satisfaction with the improved condition of the pitch at the Accra Sports Stadium ahead of Ghana’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Chad.

The coach previously raised concerns about the pitch during Ghana’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches, but recent maintenance work has significantly enhanced the playing surface.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, Addo emphasized the importance of the improved pitch, stating that it will benefit his team in their quest for victory.

“I’m very happy that the pitch looks much better. For me, this is very important. I think now we are on a good path, and I know that we will create a lot of chances and the goals will come,” Addo said.

Ghana will host Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 22, with the Black Stars aiming for a win to strengthen their position in Group I of the qualifiers.
