Former Black Satellites coach Yaw Preko has expressed interest in the vacant Black Stars coaching position following the departure of Otto Addo couple of days ago.
The 51-year-old tactician has made himself available as the Ghana Football Association continues it search for successor for the ex- Borussia Dortmund trainer ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Preko, brings experience from both youth and club football, having previously worked as head coach of the Black Satellites, assistant coach at Hearts of Oak and also with Nigerian side FC Ifeanyi Ubah.
The coaching role became vacant after Addo was dismissed following Ghana’s poor showing in the March international window, where the team suffered defeats to Austria and Germany.
In his second stint, Addo managed 22 matches, recording eight wins, nine defeats and five draws, with 35 goals scored and 28 conceded, as inconsistency ultimately led to his exit.
Ghana will begin their World Cup campaign against Panama on June 18, before facing England and Croatia in a challenging Group L.
