Ghana's Minister of Youth and Sports announced on Tuesday that the state-of-the-art Borteyman Sports Complex will transform into the University of Sports and Development following the conclusion of the Accra 2023 African games.
The Borteyman Sports Complex has been commissioned for the 13th African Games scheduled to take place in Accra on March 8, 2023.

During a press conference in Kumasi on Wednesday, Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku expressed the association's intention to establish a lasting partnership with the incoming Black Stars coach.
Okraku's remarks came as part of the GFA's efforts to address concerns surrounding Ghana's disappointing performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d'Ivoire.
"When we find the new set of trainers, it is our collective decision to stay with them for a long haul and all our national teams," he emphasized.
Following Ghana's premature exit from the tournament, the GFA relieved Chris Hughton and his coaching staff of their duties, initiating the search for a new coach.
To expedite the selection process, the GFA has formed a five-member search committee tasked with finding the new coach within a three-week timeframe. Reportedly, over 600 coaches have applied for the position.
Ghana's failure to progress to the Round of 16 came after finishing third in a group comprising Cape Verde, Egypt, and Mozambique.
The Black Stars suffered a 2-1 defeat to Cape Verde, followed by consecutive 2-2 draws against Egypt and Mozambique, sealing Ghana's elimination from the tournament.
