Ghana Football Association President, Kurt Edwin Simon Okraku, has heaped praises on the Black Stars following their back to back wins in the recent 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Ghana returned to the qualifiers with a comeback 1-2 away win against Mali in Bamako last Thursday, thanks to second half goals from Ernest Nuamah and Jordan Ayew.
They made it even better last Monday night after pipping Central African Republic by 4-3 in match-day four to cruise into the summit of Group I with nine points.
Jordan Ayew scored a stunning hat-trick so as CAR's Louis Mafouta, coupled another from Abdul Fatawu Issahaku which made the difference.
Speaking to the players after the game, the GFA boss lauded the output of the team for putting huge smiles on the faces of the Ghanaian football fans and added he is very much grateful to them for always honouring their invitation to serve the nation.
"On behalf of this country, I guess the sound from outside this premises tells all of us the enormity and the importance of this victory to Ghanaians. You guys have fought a good fight and gave it your all and you touched the hearts, and homes and souls of 30M+ Ghanaians today,’’ he said.
"We don’t have too much to say today but to say how grateful we are for the fight’’.
"I really thank you from the bottom of my heart for this victory. It is a very good one; let’s take the positives, all the positives that will come out of this game. I only came to say thank you, we appreciate you a lot.’’.
Ghana's next game in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers is against Chad March 17, 2025.
