A depleted midweek of Ghana Premier League football begins with a basement battle at WAFA Park on Wednesday afternoon, as Great Olympics play host to Karela United.
Having succumbed to a 3-0 drubbing at the hands of Bibiani Gold Stars last weekend. Karela on the other hand surprisingly stunned Asante Kotoko 1-0 in match week 20 fixture at their new home grounds - Naa Sheriga Sports Complex in Nalerigu.
The Pride and Passion lad's win over the Porcupine Warriors was hailed as a "clear sign of improvement" from Abukari Damba’s charges, who now have nothing but Premier League duties to focus on between now and the end of the campaign.
Great Olympics are manning the 9th position on the league table with 27 points, while Karela United are 15th with 23 points.
Can Karela clamber out of the Premier League not-too-safe zone with a win as they will automatically fall into the relegation zone if they lose this afternoon against an inconsistent Great Olympics side.
