Hearts of Oak midfielder, Salifu Ibrahim, suggests that playing their home games away at the WAFA Park in Sogakope influenced their draw against Bofoakwa Tano.

Despite taking an early 1-0 lead, the Phobians were unable to maintain their advantage, settling for a 1-1 draw at full time in a Ghana Premier League match week 20 encounter.

In a post-match interview, Salifu, who scored Hearts of Oak's goal and received the man of the match award, expressed his belief that the change in venue affected the team's performance. He noted that they would have garnered more support if the match had been held at their usual venue, the Accra Sports Stadium.

“On paper, we are playing at home, but we it is not our usual Accra Sports Stadium home. The supporters we would have gotten in Accra, we didn’t get them like that here in Sogakope.”

The draw brought an end to Hearts of Oak's two-game winning streak under new head coach Aboubakar Ouattara, leaving them in the 8th position on the league table.

Hearts of Oak next travel to Kumasi to face Dreams FC on Thursday in a Ghana Premier League matchweek 21 fixture.
