Relocating from the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale to the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex before the league's second round has proven beneficial for Karela United. The team clinched two consecutive victories at their new venue, triumphing over Legon Cities and securing a notable 1-0 win against Asante Kotoko over the weekend.
The victory over Kotoko marked their second consecutive away defeat since the league's resumption, reflecting Karela United's determination and resilience on their home turf.
Despite a goalless first half, Karela United showcased a stellar performance, ultimately securing a 1-0 victory with Giyasu Ibrahim's decisive goal in the 60th minute.
After the match, Ganiu Mohammed, named man of the match, expressed the team's ambition to transform the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex into an impregnable fortress for the remainder of the league.
“The people of Nalerigu wants us to make the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex a fortress and we will make sure we make the venue a fortress by winning all our home games. the fans here are giving us a lot of support and that is a huge motivation for us. We are grateful for their support” he said.
With 23 points from 20 matches, Karela United currently occupies the 15th position on the Ghana Premier League table, poised to continue their upward trajectory with a strong home advantage.
