Seeking their second Bechem Park triumph of the month at the third attempt, Bechem United welcome Heart of Lions to their Tano South district home for a Saturday lunchtime Premier League contest.
Interim coach Francis Addai’s men failed to earn an impressive Bono Region scalp last weekend, snatching a 1-1 draw with Bofoakwa Tano, while Heart of Lions were able to put Nations FC to the sword in a 3-0 humiliation at Kpando.
Bofo’s John Eduafor remarked that his charges should have marched to an even more emphatic success against Francis Addai’s lowly troops, and on account of their second straight-set draw stalemate in the league, 17th-placed Heart of Lions are currently just three points above Real Tamale United (RTU) in the standings.
Results on Saturday could close the gap between Bechem United and the top four, but Heart of Lions need a win at all cost on Saturday to get close in ebbing away from the red zone and increase their slim survival hopes.
485 goals shipped in just 27 Ghana Premier League matches is also a good record of its kind in the history of the competition, although it is all doom and gloom for Bashir Hayford’s basement battlers, who have lost all five of their last five away fixtures from March into this month of April, 2024 so far, considering seven goals and scoring just a goal in all of them.
