It's rarely a dull occasion when the Greater-Accra rivals collide, with Legon Cities welcoming Dreams FC to the University of Ghana Stadium on Sunday afternoon match-day 17 fixture.
We've seen far worse Cities teams fail to triumph against their regional-rivals in the Ghana Premier League since 2022, but Yaw Acheampong's team must sense vulnerability within the Dreams ranks ahead of this meeting.
Match Preview
The Royals are struggling seriously and head into the derby having lost their last five games on a roll - sitting 18th with 11 points. Their inability to convert chances has led to their recent demise, and they must stumble upon a solution in the January transfer window to reignite their season.
Defeat here could all but end their chances of playing in next season's Ghana Premier League campaign
An array off their key players has undermined Dreams FC campaign, but they're still going strong - having managed one win, two draws and two defeats in their last five games, making the mood within Karim Zito's camp bright.
A barren run in the competition means they're currently 14th in the table - 16 points adrift of Legon Cities.
Legon Cities possible starting lineup (4-2-3-1):
Honu (GK), Akatuk, Akoto (C), Alidu, J. Amoah, Asamoah, Gyesi, Opoku Nti, Quartey, Suraje, Yeboah
Dreams FC possible starting lineup (3-4-2-1):
Aseako (GK); Adjei, Ahiable, Aziz, Boah, Boateng, Danso, Esso (C), Guede, Owusu C, Owusu L
We say: Legon Cities 1-1 Dreams FC
Dreams FC's inefficiency in front of goal can no longer be seen as the 'Still Believes' being on the wrong end of some rotten luck. It's a skill issue.
However, they continue to assert impressive control on matches and should have success against Legon Cities build-up here given the hosts' prolific slowness in defence. Dreams FC, though, have shown signs of growing as a unit.
We may not be subject to thrills and spills here, but there may well be late drama in a tense University of Ghana Stadium draw.
