Asante Kotoko's quest for a fourth consecutive win came to an abrupt halt on Sunday afternoon, as they settled for a 1-1 draw against Basake Holy Stars at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Stadium in Nzema Anyinase.

Kotoko seemed poised for victory when Albert Amoah scored in the 36th minute, showcasing a well-placed strike that put the visitors ahead.

However, the home side fought back, leveling the match in the 81st minute and securing a valuable point, which ultimately prevented Kotoko from reaching the top of the league table.

Despite controlling 58% of the possession and matching Holy Stars with 24 goal attempts throughout the match, Kotoko failed to leverage their opportunities.

Both teams managed 11 shots on target, yet the inability to convert those chances proved costly for Kotoko.

This draw leaves Kotoko three points adrift of league leaders Bibiani GoldStars, who claimed an impressive victory over Hearts of Oak earlier in the day.

With their eyes set on returning to winning form, Kotoko will face Legon Cities in a midweek clash.

The team is determined to bounce back from this disappointing result and stay in contention for the title race.
