Asante Kotoko continued their winning momentum with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Basake Holy Stars at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

A deflected strike from Samuel Tenedu in the 14th minute proved decisive, securing the Porcupine Warriors their third consecutive win and extending their unbeaten streak to four matches.

The victory also lifted Kotoko to the top of the league standings, one point ahead of their closest rivals, after Bibiani Gold Stars failed to win against Hearts of Oak.

Kotoko dominated possession with 52% control and created several attacking opportunities but struggled to find a second goal, a familiar pattern in their recent performances.

Despite their dominance, Basake Holy Stars offered little threat going forward and remain in danger of slipping into the relegation zone.

With momentum on their side, Kotoko will now focus on their next home fixture against Berekum Chelsea, aiming to solidify their place at the top.

Meanwhile, Basake Holy Stars must regroup quickly as they continue their fight for survival.
