Michael Sarpong's third goal of the season gave Medeama SC a deserved victory over twelve-placed Aduana Stars as they won a matchday 25 Premier League game at TnA Stadium against the Fire Boys for the first time since March, 2025.

The Yellow and Mauves have found wins hard to come by of late, registering two wins and four losses in their last six games.

This was a game where boss Ibrahim Tanko definitely did not leave the handbrake on, and possibly provided a bit of extra attacking leeway his Medeama players responded with a performance full of skill and swagger.

The hosts got themselves in front in the 55th minute thanks to Michael Sarpong's creative brilliance after being clipped-down in the box. Yussif Mubarik, however, stepped out to play the penalty where he expertly converted it.

Aduana dangerman Kelvin Obeng was shown a red card in the 61st minute mark which made things hard for the visitors.

Medeama added their second goal on the afternoon twenty-seven minutes before the final whistle interval after some superb centre-forward play as Michael Sarpong nodded home with a low header.

The Yellow and Mauves enjoyed the bulk of the chances - Yussif Mubarik, Kelvin Nkrumah and the influential Sarpong both going close – before Sarpong finished off his goal in the 82nd minute.

Medeama climbed up to seventh in the table, seven points behind first-placed Asante Kotoko, while Aduana are now 12th with 28 points.
