Heart of Lions are back on winning path with an important 1-0 victory over Medeama SC in match-day 22 of the Ghana Premier League
It was Medeama SC that made the first goal attempt in the game after a great counter break in the fifth minute but the final shot from Fordjour went straight at goalkeeper Lawrence Osei.
It took the home side seventeen minutes to make a dangerous attack in the game after Dennis Hutor sent in a strong hit but was pushed away by goalkeeper Felix Kyei to a wasted corner kick.
In the 39th minute, the visitors nearly scored but their double efforts from Emmanuel Owusu and Manuel Mantey respectively, were all saved by goalkeeper Lawrence Osei.
Back from recess, both teams returned stronger and played a very tactical game limiting each other the chance to find the back of the net.
The Mauve and Yellows however looked the dominant side having made so many incursions including two shots on goal but all proved futile.
Finally, the 'Dzie Woa Nu' outfit opened the scoring account in the 66th minute through their captain Ebenezer Abban who scored with a brave header from a corner kick. It finished 1-0 after full-time for the home side.
Heart of Lions have finally ended their three-game winless run to climb back into the top four on the table with 44 points. They will host Accra Lions this weekend.
Medeama SC despite putting up a great show are back on losing path and will seek redemption against league leaders Bibiani Goldstars in the next round of matches.
