Aduana Stars delivered a commanding performance to secure a 2-0 win over Hearts of Oak in a crucial Ghana Premier League fixture on Wednesday afternoon, stretching their unbeaten run against the Phobians to eight matches.
The Ogya Boys took early control at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park in Dormaa Ahenkro and deservedly opened the scoring in the 31st minute through captain Sam Adams.
The experienced midfielder led by example, calmly slotting home to give Aduana the lead after orchestrating play from the heart of midfield.
Hearts of Oak struggled to gain a foothold in the match, and despite a flurry of second-half substitutions—introducing the likes of Yahaya, Boateng, Oppong Afrane, and Karikari—they failed to break down Aduana’s well-organized defence.
The Phobians' attacking woes continued, with their efforts consistently neutralized by the disciplined Aduana backline.
Aduana put the result beyond doubt in the 88th minute when Ivorian forward Abdel Latif Bamba, who had been introduced just 10 minutes earlier, capped off a sharp move with a precise finish to make it 2-0.
The result sees Aduana Stars climb further away from the relegation zone and reaffirm their strong home record over the Phobians.
For Hearts of Oak, the defeat is another setback in their push for a top-three finish and extends their recent poor run of form.
