Heart of Lions humble giants Hearts of Oak by 2-0 to maintain their unbeaten start of the season in GPL match-day two at the Kpando Sports Stadium.

The two sides made a very slow start to the game and were moving around with no any dangerous incursions as they had to relax and find their rhythm.

Heart of Lions resulted to long balls in a quest to searching for the opener but the travellers were always on alert and ensured they are always picking the second balls to make their approach less effective.

Hearts of Oak appealed for a penalty inside the 29th minute mark after Hamza Issah appeared to have been fouled in the box the but the referee waved play on.

The second half started with similar rhythm just as the first half but this time both teams had some few opportunities coming their way but couldn't make them count.

The Lions in the 61st minute, came so close to breaking the deadlock after substitute Mustapha Yakubu sent a strong hit but was well checked by Benjamin Asare to a wasted corner kick.

As Hearts of Oak continued shiver and commit some unpardonable mistakes at the back, Kwesi Pong came so close to scoring from a close range but was well checked by the visitors backline.

The home team finally snatched the lead in the 83rd minute through Kwesi Pong who controlled a sumptuous pass from Boateng and slotted home beautifully. Just what they kept on hunting for.

Six minutes later, Ishmael Addo also struck from the edge of the box to double Heart of Lions lead as it finished 2-0 after full time.

The Giants Killers currently have four from two games after last week's draw in Dormaa and will travel to Dreams FC next.

Hearts of Oak embarrassingly, have now lost their opening two league matches and will welcome Bechem United to the capital next week.
