Aduana Stars have moved to a safer place of the Ghana Premier League standings thanks to a 1-0 victory against a spirited Karela United at Nana Agyemang Badu Park.
The Pride and Passion were a shadow of their usual selves in the first half as midfielder’ Gideon Boateng gave Aduana a merited lead, but over 20 responses from the away team did not complete a terrific turnaround as Yaw Acheampong’s side moved from the 15th position to the eleventh spot in the table.
However, Acheampong’s men initially showed nothing to suggest that they could capitalize on Karela’s mishaps, as Jimmy Cobblah’s Karela exploded out of the blocks and deservedly went ahead early doors through a fizzing George Boateng 45’+3 minutes strike.
The Passioners spirits in response to Aduana’s deserved opener was non-existent; the Dormaa giants were being played off the park and bullied by the men from Tamale, whose marauding midfielders were up to the task as they keep feeding their attackers with sweet ball, but unfortunately none of them could score as the match ended in favor of the Fire gazers.
