Heart of Lions are off to a brighter start with a narrow 1-0 victory earlier this dusk over Dreams FC at the Kpando Stadium in matchday 1 of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
The contest was a very close one with both teams putting up a stupendous performance against each other but captain Ebenezer Abban’s 25th minute penalty made the difference between the two sides in the end.
The Giant Killers played exactly like the home side having dominated majority part of the game with some decent opportunities created but struggled to beat Dreams goalie Gideos Aseako in most situations.
The ‘Still Believe’ lads also, stayed very disciplined throughout the game where they organized very well making it tough to concede from open play.
Both teams really took the game at each other especially in the second half but there was no goal registered again as it finished 1-0 after full-time for the hosts.
Heart of Lions will look to move on with this moment when they hit the road to play Eleven Wonders in matchday 2. Dreams FC will also host giants Hearts of Oak next.
