Heart of Lions secured a 2-0 win over Young Apostles at the Kpando Stadium in match-day 10 and have now enhanced their league winning chances.
The Giant Killers made an explosive start to the game and their incessant pressure on their opponents got them the opening goal in the 12th minute through former Black Satellites forward Michael Ephson.
Ephson once again was put through with a good pass but was flagged up for an offside as he was on the turn for his second.
In the second half, Young Apostles bounced back well and looked much improved this time but still struggled to get into the Lions’ back line.
The ‘Dzia Woa Nu’ lads despite the heat still managed to sneak their way through for the second goal courtesy an own goal.
It finished 2-0 for high-flying Heart of Lions who have moved to the second position now with 21 points and will travel to Vision FC next
Young Apostles are in eighth position with 14 points after today’s loss and will take on Asante Kotoko next week.
