Berekum Chelsea have held Hearts of Oak to a pulsating 0-0 draw at the Legon Stadium in a tricky Ghana Premier League match-week 23 clash.
The ‘Phobians’ got off to a bright start and in just less than two minutes they came up with a big opportunity after Amankwah Baafi crafted in a cross from the right but was beyond Mawuli Wayo to make the connection despite the wide stretch.
The home team kept on with the persistent attacks which left the visitors struggling and only chasing shadows with goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi stepping up for the for the away side in series of situations with crucial saves.
Berekum Chelsea’s closest in the first half was when Dominic Frimpong made a charging run towards enemy territory and sent a belter but was parried away brilliantly by goalkeeper Benjamin Asare.
In the second half, both teams returned just from they left off and began making incursions at each other again resulting to even exchanges.
Hearts of Oak once again came up with some decent chances but finding the net was always their major problem as former Black Satellites goalie Eric Ofori Antwi still stood tall causing problems for his former club.
Hearts of Oak after the goalless draw have dropped from second to third position on the table with 40 points and will travel to Bibiani GoldStars in what will be a very crunchy clash
Berekum Chelsea’s winless run against the ‘Phobians’ continues and ain’t positioning well on the table as they currently sit in 15th spot with 27 points. They host Young Apostles next.
