Bibiani Goldstars earned an exciting 2–1 win against Hearts of Oak in their Matchweek 24 game of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League at Dun’s Park on Sunday afternoon.

The Miners started very well and surprised the Phobians early in the match. Striker Samuel Atta Kumi scored in the sixth minute with a calm finish to give Goldstars the lead and excite the home supporters.

Hearts of Oak found it hard to play their usual game in the first half as Goldstars stayed well organised in defence. Even though the Phobians had some possession, they struggled to create clear chances before half-time.

In the second half, Hearts of Oak improved and attacked with more purpose. Their pressure paid off in the 64th minute when 17-year-old forward Henry Kwaku Boateng scored the equaliser. The young forward kept his cool and finished well to make it 1–1.

As the match moved closer to a draw, both teams searched for a winning goal. Just when it looked like Hearts of Oak would take a point, Goldstars struck late.

In the 87th minute, Augustine Boakye scored the winning goal to put his side back in front. His late effort surprised the Phobians and secured all three points for the Miners.

The victory keeps Bibiani Goldstars in second place with 45 points as they continue their strong season. Hearts of Oak stay third on 40 points and miss the chance to move closer to the top.
