Bechem United and Medeama SC played out a pulsating 1-1 draw earlier today to kickstart match-week 28 of the Ghana Premier League at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.
The first half produced little excitement, with both sides struggling to create clear chances in what was largely a cagey affair.
However, the game came alive after the break, the Hunters took the lead in the 70th minute through starman Augustine Okrah, who headed home from a well-delivered cross by Yaw Annor to secure his tenth of the season.
The Mauve and Yellows pushed forward in search of an equaliser and were rewarded late in the game when Prince Owusu was brought down in the box in the 88th minute.
Star midfielder Salim Adams stepped up and calmly converted the penalty to level the score.
Despite the draw, Medeama remain at the top of the table with 50 points and will now turn their attention to a crucial clash against Asante Kotoko at the TnA Stadium in the next round of matches.
Bechem United, on the other hand, moved to ninth position with 37 points and will travel to face Hohoe United in their next fixture.
