Medeama SC have jumped to the top of the league thanks to a precious 2-1 win over Dreams FC in matchday five opener of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season. 

It was really a close game in Tarkwa right from onset, given that both teams having similar playing style leaving a very open challenge especially at half-time. 

It didn’t take long for host Medeama SC to open the scoring account courtesy In-form Abdul Salam who scored in the 19th minute to mark his third of the season. 

Visitors Dreams FC never gave up having fought very hard as they knew getting the equalizer before will be really crucial and eventually scored at the death of half-time (45+1) through Christian Owusu to level things up 

Back from recess, the Mauves and Yellows bounced back on a higher note and restored their lead again in the 67th minute but unfortunately Kamaradini Mamudu had his goal ruled out for an offside. 

The two coaches made series of substitutions introducing fresh legs in the game looking to turn things around and probably have the game under their control. 

However, it worked for the homesters who finally scored in the closing moments thanks to an own goal to win 2-1 after full-time. 

Medeama SC after today’s win have jumped to the summit of thw league log with 12 points after five matches and will travel next to Aduana Stars. 

Dream FC have now lost four matches since the commencement of the new campaign and will chase their first win next week when they host Karela United.
