Nations FC climbed out of the relegation zone with a commanding 2-0 victory over Basake Holy Stars at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Sunday.
Samuel Tetteh starred for the hosts, scoring twice in a blistering opening spell to put the game beyond doubt. The forward struck in the 5th minute before adding a second just five minutes later, handing Nations a dream start.
Nations FC controlled proceedings for much of the contest, dominating possession and creating the clearer chances, while Basake Holy Stars struggled to find any attacking rhythm.
The hosts had a chance to extend their advantage in the second half but failed to convert from the penalty spot in the 64th minute. Despite the miss, they remained solid at the back and comfortably protected their lead until the final whistle.
The win lifts Nations FC out of the bottom three, providing a crucial boost in their fight to avoid relegation as the season nears its climax.
Basake Holy Stars, meanwhile, see their momentum halted and remain in mid-table, with more work needed to secure their status.
