Young Apostles had to be satisfied with a 2–2 draw against Hohoe United in their 2025/26 Ghana Premier League Week 19 game at the Wenchi Sports Stadium on Sunday. Richmond Opoku’s second-half goal cancelled out Hohoe United’s strong start.

The game was exciting, with fire swinging back and forth. Hohoe United shocked the home fans by scoring two goals in quick succession inside the first 21 minutes, but Young Apostles fought back thanks to a strong performance from their midfielder Richmond Opoku.

Hohoe United took the lead in the 20th minute when attacker Anane Keke David scored calmly. Just a minute later, centre-back Emmanuel Kyeremeh doubled their advantage, leaving the Wenchi supporters stunned.

Young Apostles did not give up. They responded quickly, and in the 25th minute Richmond Opoku scored to pull one back, giving his team hope before half-time.

The second half saw Young Apostles pushing for an equaliser while Hohoe United tried to hold their lead. Their efforts paid off in the 56th minute when Opoku scored his second goal, making it 2–2 and sparking celebrations among the home fans.

Both teams had chances to win in the final minutes, but neither could score again, and the match ended in a draw.

The result leaves Young Apostles 15th on the league table with 22 points after 19 games, with five wins, seven draws and seven losses. They are still looking for their sixth win of the season. Hohoe United stay in 17th place with 19 points, after four wins, seven draws and eight losses, and remain near the bottom of the table.
