Bibiani GoldStars head coach, Fritz Markus Schmid has heaped series of praises on his players following their gallant performance against giants Asante Kotoko at the Dun’s Park over the weekend.
The Porcupine Warriors got held in Bibiani by the Miners despite posing series of threats in a very herculean Ghana Premier League match-day 19 encounter.
One of the major talking points after the game had to do with Kotoko being denied a very clear goal after skipper Samba O’Neil connected into the net with a towering header in the 83rd minute from Lord Amoah’s cross.
Speaking after the game, the Swiss gaffer admitted it was a difficult game against a stronger opposition but his lads showed resilience and managed to survive all pressure to avoid a defeat
“I have to give my players a lot of credit for their performance because we played a very strong side who had a solid possession game, they put us under a lot of pressure, especially in the second half, and we kept up, and we held against them. I praise the team for fighting against a clever and more experienced side,” the Swiss tactician said.
The draw against Kotoko means Bibiani GoldStars have 33 points and are now seven adrift the top-spot as they prepare to play as guests to Berekum Chelsea next.
