Basake Holy Stars maintained their impressive form in the Ghana Premier League with a commanding 2–0 victory over former champions FC Samartex on Matchday 14 at the AAK II Sports Arena.

Buoyed by a morale-boosting win over Asante Kotoko and a hard-fought draw against league leaders Aduana Stars, Holy Stars approached the contest full of confidence and intensity—and were rewarded for their enterprise.

Forward Simba Sylvester was the star of the afternoon, scoring both goals in the first half to put the hosts firmly in control. His opener settled the home side early, before he doubled the advantage later in the half, finishing off sustained pressure and purposeful attacking play.

FC Samartex, who also arrived in decent form, found it difficult to match Holy Stars’ tempo and organisation, particularly in midfield. Despite attempting to respond after the break, the visitors were unable to break down a disciplined Holy Stars defence, which remained solid throughout the second half.

The result further underlines Basake Holy Stars’ rise as one of the league’s most in-form sides. They have now recorded three wins in their last five matches, suffering just one defeat in that run, as their confidence and momentum continue to grow heading into the next phase of the season.
