Young Apostles brought their five-match winless run in the Ghana Premier League to an end with a gritty home victory over Karela United on Sunday, December 14, 2025.
The win, their fourth at the Wenchi Sports Stadium this season, lifted Apostles level on points with Karela United and injected fresh belief into their campaign.
Abdul Ganiyu opened the scoring in spectacular fashion in the 20th minute, unleashing a powerful strike that left the Karela goalkeeper with no chance. The visitors responded before the break, with Felix Morty forcing the ball home in the 36th minute after a goalmouth scramble to restore parity.
Young Apostles, however, regained the advantage just four minutes after the restart, as Issah Nyaabila found the net to put the hosts back in front. Despite late pressure from Karela, Apostles defended resolutely to protect their narrow lead and claim all three points.
The result denied Karela United the chance to record back-to-back wins, following their impressive victory over Hearts of Oak in their previous outing.
Looking ahead, Young Apostles will travel to face Nations FC, while Karela United return home to host Vision FC in their next league fixtures.
