Hearts of Oak moved to second place in the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League standings after securing a 1-0 victory over Port City FC in their match-week six encounter at the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon.

Frank Duku Abora proved to be the difference between the two sides, scoring in the 20th minute after connecting with a towering header from Nsobila’s cross to hand the Phobians an early lead.

The Rainbow Club controlled much of the first half and looked determined to end their three-game winless run.

The ‘Adonteng’ Royals returned with greater urgency after half-time and improved their performance, but Hearts remained organised defensively in the closing stages to preserve their lead and take all three points.

The victory takes Hearts of Oak to 11 points, lifting them to second place on the league table and will next face regional rivals Vision FC.

On the other hand, this is Port City’s second defeat of the campaign and will also turn their attention to their next fixture against Dreams FC in Kukurantumi.
