Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has confirmed the departure of defender Denis Nkrumah Korsah, saying he will not be part of the squad for the 2024/25 football season.

The 28-year-old who joined the Phobians in 2022 from Ebusua Dwarfs, was not in the Hearts team on Sunday - during their 2024 Gbese Mantse Homowo Charity Peace Cup match win over Heart of Lions, whereby the Phobians annexed the trophy after a 1-1 draw in regulation time and a nerve-cracking penalty shootout.

After the match, Coach Ouattara confirmed the departure of Korsah as he is not in the plans of the team in the upcoming campaign.

“We are in a new era, and this time, it is not about names. The names are not important. It is a strategy we are putting in place to fit everyone.

“Michael Ampadu is injured that is why he didn’t play but for Korsah, he is not with us anymore," Ouattara added.

Korsah was a key cog in the Hearts set-up, helping the club to win both the FA Cup and President Cup in 2022.

The left-back will now be expected to lookout for a new club before the start of the looming Ghana Premier League season.
