Bibiani Gold Stars Chief Executive Officer Akwasi Adu has confirmed the club is pursuing striker Albert Amoah as they look to reinforce their squad ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
The forward is currently a free agent after leaving Libyan side Al Ahly Benghazi before the expiry of his two-year contract, making him one of the most sought-after attackers on the local market.
Amoah, joined Al Ahly Benghazi in October 2025 but struggled to establish himself before returning to Asante Kotoko on a short-term loan in January 2026.
Speaking about the club’s transfer plans, Akwasi Adu admitted Gold Stars are looking to make only a few additions, with Amoah identified as their priority target in attack following the departure of Samuel Attah Kumi.
“We have 27 players. At least 24 are confirmed. We are just looking around to add one or two players to some departments of the team. I’m looking for Albert Amoah to replace Attah Kumi,” he said.
The Gold Stars CEO also made it clear that the club is determined to secure the striker’s signature.
“Yes, I’m chasing Kotoko’s Albert Amoah. I’m chasing him until he comes. We are looking for one central defender, which we’ve gotten. We got this young player from Young Apostles, and the other role is an attacking midfielder,” he added.
